Traditional gathering 2011.

gp_2011_1.jpgThis year again we celebrated traditionally the results of another successful fiscal year. Unlike previous years, the venue of this year's celebration was in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the city of Jajce.

The charm of the royal city of Jajce, with its rich historical, cultural and natural heritage, came as a pleasant surprise to all of us. The largest number of the monuments of material culture derives from the ancient and the early Christian period. The settlement itself developed in the area of the ancient Croatian Pliva district. The majority of Bosnian territory in the 10th and 11th century was a part of Croatia. After Croatia had entered into the personal union with Hungary, Bosnia was striving to become independent. At that time in Dalmatia and Croatia had strengthened the Bribir princes of Šubić parentage, while to the duty of viceroy was elected Stephen I. Kotroman, the founder of the Kotromanić dynasty, who married the daughter of the Serbian kind Dragutin. The rich Šubić princes did not like it and organized a raid against the Bosnian noblemen, conquered them and ruled the Bosnian Banovina during the next twenty years. Stephen I. was succeeded by his son, who restored the territory and extended Banovina to a large part of Dalmatia, giving great freedom to the Franciscans in Bosnia. The nephew of Stephen II., Tvrtko I. Kotromanić, who won a number of victories and for a brief period seized the title of the king of Croatia and Dalmatia, renewed the Croatian sovereignty under the national rulers, making his kingdom the most powerful in the whole Balkans.

In Jajce was also held the 2. session of AVNOJ on November 29 and 30, 1943, when a decision was made on establishing of the National committee of liberation of Yugoslavia, with the functions of the provisional government, the decision on the arrangement of future Yugoslavia on federative and democratic principle, under recognition of rights to all its nations.

gp_2011_2.jpgBesides the fascinating history of this town, the largest impression on us left a magnificent 20 meter high waterfall, which is also one of the 12 most beautiful waterfalls in the world. Within the city walls where we walked, there is also a tower of St. Luke, the St. Mary church (in which was crowned the last Bosnian king Stephen Tomašević), the Women's or the Dizdar's mosque, the catacombs carved in the solid rock, and the Bear's tower. The historic city area of Jajce is nominated for the World heritage list of UNESCO.

This was another good opportunity to get closer and enter the new fiscal year in a positive and optimistic tone, in a good atmosphere in which enjoyed all employees and their partners. As always, at the celebration were named the best workers in the year 2011. This title carry as many as three workers: Branimir, Petra and Renata, who have marked this successful year by their exceptional commitment.

We ended our associating with a short tour of Banja Luka, and started home full of impressions.
