Matterhorn Expedition

Matterhorn Expedition

Matterhorn is 4478m high peak which is located in Pennine Alps on the boarder of Switzerland and Italy. It is the last conquered European peak, and from that moment the era of modern alpinism has began.

Edward Whymper of England has first stepped on the peak of Matterhorn in year 1865, and until today 600 alpinists left their lives on that mountain. That statistical fact greatly contributes the reputation of that mountain as one of the technically most demanding mountain in the world, but at the same time one of the greatest dreams and wishes of numerous alpinists and climbers throughout the world.

Two of us from Tim headed this year to Switzerland to fulfill this dream, but extremely bad weather for this part of the year and unpredicted medical difficulties stoped us from stepping on the peak. We had to give up of climbing 4330m. Matterhorn will stay there for long time, and we promised it that we would come back.
